K Downs is a 2D animator, director, and animation instructor living in Queens, NY.

After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 2012, K has primarily worked as a freelancer on feature films, commercials, TV shows, and ads. They’ve worn many hats on many projects, ranging from: animator, designer, director, storyboarder, and compositor. As a full-time freelancer, variety is their favorite thing about projects! They love a challenge, are passionate about honing in new skills, and collaboration.

Aside from freelance, K also teaches at the School of Visual Arts as a thesis instructor. They also have experience curating and hosting animation screening events such as Paper Jam and Zoetrope.
